A community overwhelmed by pain. At the same time eager to reach out, to find strength. Many people reached the parish of San Domenico Savio, in Nuoro, last night. A heartfelt and well-attended vigil took place after the massacre that shocked a community between the streets of Ichnusa and Gonario Pinna . Roberto Gleboni shot and killed his wife Giusei Massetti, his 25-year-old daughter Martina, his 10-year-old son Francesco, his neighbor Paolo Sanna (69), and then moved to his 84-year-old mother's house to shoot her too, wounding her, before pointing the gun at himself and ending it all.

People gathered in that church where a few months ago little Francesco Gleboni had received his first communion. "Our first thoughts must go to that boy who was left alone, to what he will still have to face in life," said Don Stefano Paba in his touching homily, addressing his first thoughts to the sole survivor of the massacre. "Let's not let ourselves be overcome by fear, we must react."

On Saturday evening the community of Nuoro will unite even more. A torchlight procession will be held to remember the victims of the massacre on Wednesday morning. The departure is scheduled for 6:00 pm in via Ichnusa, the scene of the massacre. From number 17 where the Gleboni-Massetti family lived, in an apartment on the ground floor. The procession will cross the city, arriving at the cathedral.
