The history of Nule carpets, precious jewels of Sardinian craftsmanship, told by two key figures in the contemporary textile industry and design: Angelo Crabolu of Tessile Crabolu "Industria della lana" and Eugenia Pinna , weaver and textile designer. The event is scheduled for Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Ex Centro Pilota Isola, where the exhibition "T'Essere, non finito, finito" - 2025, 2026, 2027 - opened on December 20th, under the artistic direction of architect Angelo Ziranu.
It will be a two-way dialogue between material culture, production processes, and design research, illustrating how Sardinian wool is transformed, through skill, timing, and technical choices, into artifacts that speak to the present. The event is part of a calendar of events spanning the past and the new year, including artistic and cultural offerings, conferences, workshops, and a work-in-progress event, the highlight of the event: master weavers will be working in the former Isola Pilot Center to create six rugs inspired by six designers, who have submitted their sketches to the experts of this ancient art. They will create six furnishing gems to be delivered on January 31st, the closing date of the event, organized by the Municipality of Nule, in collaboration with the Pro Loco, and with the patronage of the Region of Sardinia.
The new compositions are taking shape in the town of Goceano, which preserves and renews its knowledge : “Germogli di Infinito” and “Rosario” (project proposal: Angelo Ziranu) are being woven respectively by Maria Assunta Manca and Valeria Masala; “Ciclicità” (proposed by Mara Damiani) with Rosa Giua; “Seda e Oro” (proposed by Don Sebastiano Corrias) with Giovanna Maria Campus; “E una mattina, il mare!” (proposed by Eugenia Pinna) with Gonaria Manca; and RESEDA (proposed by Carolina Melis) with Maria Pala.
