Citizens' committees and individuals continue to report the problem to the Municipality, but there are also almost daily complaints from the Local Police of Olbia. The territory of the Gallura city is dotted with illegal dumps and micro dumps , in isolated areas and along the roads that connect Olbia to other centers.

Even compromised sites placed under seizure due to the presence of tons of waste, including special waste, are once again the preferred destination of illegal operators of waste transport and illegal disposal . For example, movements of vehicles in the area of Sa Corroncedda have been reported to the police, the former nomad camp of Olbia transformed into one of the largest illegal landfills in Sardinia and under (criminal) seizure since November 2019.

It should also be remembered that the Noe reported 22 people to the DDA of Cagliari (the proceedings are underway in Cagliari) for seven clandestine sites, in which 1300 tons of material (including used batteries, lead and components of refrigeration equipment) were illegally disposed of .

Lawyer Christian Cicoria has coordinated some initiatives for the remediation of compromised sites and says: «The Municipality acts immediately, as soon as we report the areas strewn with garbage, the clean-up intervention does not take long. The problem is the extent of the phenomenon. It must also be said that the presence of waste of all kinds attracts wild animals such as wild boars».
