An illegal landfill, with an attached incinerator. Illegal, obviously. The discovery was made using drones by Forestry Rangers in the countryside of Selargius, north of Highway 554, where a plot of land measuring approximately 4,000 square meters was seized. Two reports were filed.

During the investigative operations , remotely piloted systems were also used , which allowed the acquisition of aerial images essential for documenting the illegal activity.

Within the area, delimited by a brick fence, quantities of urban and special waste, including from construction sites, were found, as well as the carcasses of abandoned vehicles.

Drone footage identified an area designated for waste burning, a sort of illegal "incinerator" where, according to information gathered during the investigation, materials were burned primarily at night, emitting highly noxious fumes. Numerous reports had been received by the Forestry Corps from citizens over time.

At the end of the operation, in addition to the seizure of the area, two entrepreneurs who owned the land were charged, held responsible, to varying degrees, for the crimes of illegal waste burning and construction of an illegal landfill.
