Hit by a goalpost at a playground: a referral to trial for the death of little Gioele Putzu

Gianfranco Lai, manager of Atletico Ozieri, has been sent to trial for the death of Gioele Putzu, the child who was hit by a soccer goal in Ozieri in September 2024.
Today in Sassari court, preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca decided to send the man to trial, as requested by prosecutor Maria Paola Asara.
At the same time, the judge sent the documents to the prosecutor's office, requesting that they assess the municipality's liability for the camp's management, including that of the mayor and other administrative officials, as well as the child's grandfather, for potential failure to provide safe custody.
The relatives were assisted by lawyers Giampaolo Murrighile, Sergio Milia and Maria Claudia Pinna, and Marco Salaris.
