An increasingly serious crisis in the health sector in Sardinia. Not only the emergency in the emergency room, yesterday also the case of the appointments of the ASL directors broke out.
Early in the morning at the Brotzu there were 9 ambulances in a row, 8 at the Policlinico in the middle of the day. And if a week ago the waiting hours between Cagliari and Sassari were 7 or 9, now there is the risk of even 22: the basic problem is the lack of doctors , 5 those absent from the Polyclinic as positive for Covid , with forced staff to deal with four red codes, eleven yellow and one green visiting and another 18 yellow, green and white waiting to enter.
But now every day there is an emergency that concerns various structures, such as that of San Francesco di Nuoro . The solution? "We ask for the reopening of the emergency room of Is Mirrionis, even if only for Covid patients, but also that the 23 doctors who previously worked in the Ps of Santissima and Marino be reassigned to their structures - says Francesco Agus , regional councilor and member of the Health Commission -. Unfortunately, the pandemic is not ending and we will have to live with it again, so it is impossible to think of restoring the full operation of the Holy Trinity because there will still be a need for Covid departments ".
Waiting times are long, as Ferdinando Coghe , health director of the Polyclinic underlines: "The battle is not won inside the hospitals but on the territory if people understand that the pandemic is not over and that, although the state of emergency, there is still a dangerous situation. As long as the virus circulates and the garrison of the Holy Trinity is not reopened, the only two active emergency rooms will continue to burden, where we have an increase in requests from all territories. We will see shortly if the budget that has been assigned to us by regional resolution, 25 Covid beds plus two for intensive care, will improve things ".
