A head-on collision occurred on State Road 196 near Villacidro, heading towards Gonnosfanadiga. According to initial reports, the accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. when one of the two vehicles, a box van, overturned and ended up off the road. The only person injured appears to be the driver of the vehicle that ended up on the road.

He was rescued by 118 personnel who arrived on the scene after the alarm.

The man was then transported to Brotzu Hospital by air ambulance following facial trauma. His condition is serious but not life-threatening.
