A 29-year-old young man died this afternoon during a dive in the waters of Capitana, off the Quartu coast.

The drama occurred while the boy, a Brazilian tourist, was snorkeling with a group of people. He felt ill and lost consciousness.

The request for help was immediately sent to 118, but when the rescuers arrived on site all resuscitation attempts proved futile.

The reconstruction of what happened is entrusted to the Cagliari police officers, who have already collected some testimonies. According to initial information, the young victim suffered from a pathology that may have contributed to cutting short his life on a day that was supposed to be carefree.
