The escape of two young thieves who, last night, had targeted the home of a pensioner in Guasila , lasted just a few hours . The two were quickly identified and tracked down in their homes by the Carabinieri.

The alarm was raised by 112 from some citizens , who reported the presence of two people with their faces covered who, after getting out of a large-engined car, were wandering around the streets of the town in a suspicious manner .

Then the patrol intervened with the two young men who fled, but subsequent investigations allowed the military to quickly trace their identities : two twenty-one year old local workers, both single and one of whom was already known to the police.

The investigations then linked the two young men to a theft that had occurred a few minutes earlier in the home of a 71-year-old pensioner , who was absent at the time. Various gold objects, watches, bracelets and a purse with over a thousand euros in cash had been stolen from the old man's home. The subsequent search allowed the military to recover the entire stolen goods, which were promptly returned to the victim.

Both boys were reported at large for the crime of aggravated theft in a home in competition .

Meanwhile, the Carabinieri are continuing their investigations to verify the possible involvement of the two young men in other similar episodes that have recently occurred in the area.
