It has overcome two world wars, as many pandemics and all the difficulties that life has placed before it. And today Speranza Aresu celebrates her 108th birthday with great joy.

A milestone that earned it the longest-lived palm of over a hundred years old in the city of Cagliari and that the administration wanted to celebrate with the visit of the president of the municipal council, Edoardo Tocco.

Born in Seui on 4 April 1914, Mrs. Aresu was married to Antonio Piga, but was widowed in 1964. The marriage gave birth to five children who now allow her to enjoy six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, after a life dedicated to the family and at work.

Teaching was one of the passions that he was able to exercise, as well as in his hometown, also in Cagliari at the school in via Garavetti.

Still in shape, so much so that she sometimes wants to go shopping in person, she follows all the current events on TV and keeps up to date with everything that happens around her.

On her feast day, Edoardo Tocco brought her, in addition to good wishes from the city and the administration, a souvenir parchment and a celebratory medal with the symbol of the Sardinian capital.
