A trivial discussion, as many had had in the past, then the shot: a woman of Romanian nationality but who had lived in Golfo Aranci for years with her husband and children, was seriously wounded in the face by a neighbor, Pasquale Serra, unemployed and, it seems, with alcohol problems.
At the end of the dispute which took place around 4.30 this afternoon, the man grabbed his speargun and shot the woman in the face. The act of blood occurred in the public housing in via Libertà, in Golfo Aranci, where both the victim and the aggressor live. Upon the arrival of the carabinieri from the local station and the emergency services, Serra shut himself up in the house and opened a gas cylinder.
The intervention of the fire brigade was necessary to make the building safe, even if the quantity of gas leaked was not so large as to cause damage to people or things.
The woman was urgently transported by air ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari. His condition immediately appeared critical.
Pasquale Serra was stopped and taken to the Olbia barracks at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
