The police controls are being strengthened in Carloforte during the “Girotonno”, which also yesterday recorded a constant influx of visitors, attracted not only by the gastronomic tradition of the island but also by the rich cultural and musical program of the event.

The Carabinieri have intensified checks at the Portovesme and Calasetta embarkations , regulating the flow towards Carloforte with careful surveillance services and checks on board the ferries. On the maritime front, the Arma patrol boat has patrolled the stretch of water in front of the island of San Pietro and the adjacent Isola Piana , carrying out a surveillance service that has included targeted checks on the numerous pleasure boaters present in the waters of South-West Sardinia.

Reinforced controls by the military also in the evening on the occasion of the free concert of The Kolors. Precisely on the occasion of the concert, the Police Commissioner of Cagliari, on the basis of the indications shared by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security chaired by the Prefect, sent to Carloforte the Police officers and the Director of the Carbonia Police Station , Giovanni Lo Presto, with a Team of the Mobile Unit of Cagliari . The security device also involved the strengthening of services at the main embarkation points for the island of San Pietro, in particular the ports of Calasetta and Portoscuso , where thousands of tourists and visitors were concentrated.

The firefighters are also involved in ensuring the fire surveillance service during the main shows.

Public order services will continue today and tomorrow.
