Ghirra in the Chamber: «Crosetto should report on the reclamation of the Sardinian firing ranges»

«Last Thursday in Cagliari the trial against the generals accused of environmental disaster and manslaughter ended with four acquittals for the serious situation affecting an area of extraordinary scenic beauty, called the Delta Peninsula, within the Polygon of Cape Teulada. The environmental disaster was recognized even though the generals were acquitted."

This was written in a note by the Sardinian Avs member Francesca Ghirra who, after having spoken in the Chamber to ask for urgent information from the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto on environmental damage, the state of reclamation and compensation in the military ranges and easements of Sardinia , filed a question. «Sardinia has been paying too high a price for military bases and servitudes for too long, with a presence equal to 65% of all those present in Italy and the firing of 80% of the entire Italian ammunition», denounces Ghirra, « insult is added to the damage once again, because the payment of compensation for the municipalities, which should in any case be renegotiated, is once again late".

The deputy concludes: «This is why I asked that Minister Crosetto come and report to the Chamber as soon as possible and I have filed a new question, which I hope to be able to present at the next question time in the Chamber: we have the right to know the missing environmental data, the state of reclamation and Sardinia's prospects also in terms of demilitarization".
