He was caught in the home of an 84-year-old woman from Gesturi while he was busy conducting an audiometric examination with the aim of prescribing an expensive hearing aid . The man, a 41-year-old from Sanluri , was not actually registered in the professional register of audiometrists and hearing aid technicians, and he was reported at large for practicing the profession illegally.

The Carabinieri unmasked him during a control activity. The technical equipment and the material used were also seized and placed in custody at the Carabinieri station in Gesturi.

The military intervention, therefore, not only interrupted an illicit activity, but also guaranteed the woman's protection from a potential scam.

The competent Judicial Authority has been informed of the incident, and investigations are continuing to verify any further cases of abuse or fraud related to the man.
