The first semi-automatic external defibrillator (AED) in Gesico was installed, donated by Antonello Zedda's family and the Acli club in memory of one of the founders of the Pro Loco of Gesico, always very active in promoting social and sports initiatives, who passed away in November 2020 due to a work-related accident. The mayor Terenzio Schirru, the president of the Acli club Giulio Zedda, the president of the Acli of Sardinia Mauro Carta and Antonello's wife, Mariangela Salis, spoke. A delegation from the Pro Loco of Villanovafranca was also present.
The inauguration ceremony was an opportunity for the entire community to take care of the promotion of health safety; a form of guarantee for citizens and, at the same time, of education in the culture of first aid for adults and children. The death of Antonello Zedda, among his many passions there was also that for archaeology, at only 52 years old had caused a strong emotion among the inhabitants of Gesico, the noble gesture of the family and of the Acli is the best way to remember him.
