«Marina was a daughter, a sister, a friend». He was "a good doctor. He believed in research and science. With this fundraiser we want to honor his memory, carrying forward his ideals and certainties".

These are the words that introduce the solidarity campaign launched on the Veronesi Foundation website in the name of Marina Masia, the twenty-nine year old from Nuoro who died tragically at the Piscine di Venere, in the sea of Baunei: killed while swimming, hit by a log that fell from the ridge.

A fundraiser for cancer research (prevention section) started by friends and colleagues of a young woman who, if fate hadn't decided otherwise, would have dedicated her life to caring for others. He was studying for his specialization in Florence.

Marta Secci, Marina's colleague, who works in Internal Medicine at the Duilio Casula Polyclinic, initiated the procedures on the Foundation's portal, in agreement with those who knew the young victim: " There was a goal to indicate," she explains, " we had put 2000 euros. Now I have moved it to 5,000 given the large participation that we did not expect ». There are still three days to go and 4,980 euros have already been collected (at 4.30 pm on 28 August).

Medicine and research thank you, in the name of Marina Masia.
