From 1774, the year of establishment of the Legion of Light Troops of the Kingdom of Sardinia for military and customs supervision, to today , with the task of combating money laundering and infiltration of organized crime in procurement and in the spending of public money : the 250 years of the Guard of Finance are told in an exhibition , inaugurated today at the Covered Promenade of the Bastione of Saint Remy in Cagliari. The opportunity to see uniforms, historical documents, technological tools, weapons, medals and the reconstruction of an office of the Fiamme Gialle but also to learn about all the special departments and their tasks.

The ribbon cutting was done by the president of the jurisdictional section of the Court of Auditors of Sardinia, Donata Cabras, together with the regional commander of the Guardia di Finanza, Claudio Bolognese . The institutional and military authorities were present.

The exhibition, entitled "250 years of the Guardia di Finanza: from its origins to the modern economic-financial police", will remain open until Sunday 23 June with free entry (from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm).

“We started by hunting down smugglers,” highlighted Bolognese. «Our tasks then increased to deal with economic and financial crimes of all kinds. In Sardinia we must be careful of the risk of money laundering in the tourist real estate sector, but also of criminal infiltration in the spending of public money. Our daily commitment is to guarantee and protect honest citizens and entrepreneurs."
