At the age of 91 today "web star" on YouTube. Bonaria Spiga, from Sestese , is the protagonist of the latest video from the YouTube channel “Pasta Grannies”. Founded by Vicky Bennison, English and in love with Italy and Italian cuisine, the channel documents the ladies who cook pasta throughout Italy and beyond. "Granny" in English means grandmother.

The channel has nine hundred thousand subscribers, and Benninson has also published a book. Enough and more to guarantee Mrs. Spiga worldwide celebrity; with her on video acting as interpreters from Sardinian, Maristella Cau and Margherita Angioni. «The channel staff had shot a similar video with the Pro Loco of Uri: they asked if others were available, and they put us in touch», says Mario Ziulu of the Pro Loco of Sestu, with whom Bonaria Spiga has collaborated in the past teaching together with other teachers in a bakery workshop.

«For the video they asked me to make fregula with clams, but I can do everything: malloreddus, gnocchi, ravioli. I felt at ease, I was with a friend and they let me chat, a little in Sardinian and a little in Italian. For me, homemade bread and pasta always have the best taste». Bonaria has dedicated her life to work: «At the age of ten I was already working in a fellow villager's garden, then I worked on my land and that of my husband». In life «I have always learned to get by. I made everything myself, even the outfit. We bought the washing machine in the 80s when one of my three sons returned from the military. Before, the clothes were washed by hand, and they were cleaned anyway".
