From Cagliari to Sestu: a walk in memory of Emanuela Loi

An 18 kilometer walk in memory of Emanuela Loi, so as not to forget and honor the victims of the mafia, terrorism and crime in general.
Tomorrow, 18 May, 32 years after the Capaci and Via D'Amelio massacres, the autonomous police union of Cagliari (Sap) will demonstrate together with various authorities and numerous participants who intend to pay homage to the policewoman. A route that goes from the Cagliari police station to Sestu , the city where Paolo Borsellino's faithful escort rests today.
It will all take place in the morning. At 7.45 a delegation made up of fifteen athletes will leave the police headquarters , with a moment of reflection at the war memorial. At 9.45 am the arrival at the Emanuela Loi bridge in Monserrato , where a bouquet of flowers will be placed in the presence of the mayor of the city.
At 11am stop at the Sestu legality park , where a wreath will be placed under the mural dedicated to the policewoman. The Loi family and the police commissioner of Cagliari will also be present, while the children of the primary school in via Custoza di Selargius will play and sing the Mameli anthem. The walk will end around 12.30 at the Sestu cemetery . There will be a moment of prayer in front of the Sardinian heroine's tomb, in the presence of the state police chaplain and Emanuela's family.
The event is part of the events called "Memorial Day Sap" , which every year organizes a walk throughout Italy in memory of the victims of 1992.
