The signatures on the Orgolesi list, which in 2016 led to the election of the mayor of Orgosolo, Dionigi Deledda, with 26 percent of eligible voters going to the polls, were false.

This was established this evening by the Court of Nuoro, with judge Alessandra Ponti who after two hours of deliberation sentenced the former municipal secretary of Orgosolo, Gloria Fiore, who had falsely authenticated the signatures, to one year and eight months in prison. . One year and two months instead for the former mayor Dionigi Deledda and one year of imprisonment for Francesco Battacone. Prosecutor Andrea Jacopo Ghironi had requested more severe sentences, three years for Fiore, one year and 8 months for Deledda, and one year and 4 months for Battacone.

The other defendants in the trial for the "false signatures" they saw at trial were also all convicted, as well as the former mayor of the town, Dionigi Deledda, the then municipal secretary Gloria Fiore, the councilor Francesco Battacone, eight signatories of the lists accused in the competition of aiding and abetting, false ideology for having falsely formed documents, and in particular two lists containing the subscriptions for the presentation of the list of candidates called "Orgolesi" in the municipal elections during the 2016 municipal elections. For Fiore and Battacone there was also suspension from electoral rights and public offices for the duration of the sentence imposed, while suspension from the electoral right of eligibility for five years was declared for the former mayor.

One year of imprisonment was inflicted on Maria Musina while the other subscribers to the list were sentenced to ten months. They are Giuseppa Rosa Biancu, Roberto Cadau, Roberto Menneas, Pasquale Musina, Andrea Rubanu, Pasquale Succu, Francesca Tuffu. Penalties suspended. The lawyers await the reasons (90 days) and announce an appeal . In the courtroom at the reading of the sentence only the secretary Fiore, absent Deledda who, reached by telephone, says «sentences are not commented on, they are respected. I look forward to hearing the reasons that led to this decision, I will meet with my lawyers and we will definitely appeal."
