Ats has entered into a contract with the supplier company for the supply of the specific “PEG” device essential for the nutrition of a 14-month-old girl residing on the island and suffering from a rare genetic disease.

In recent days, even with a protest in the square , an appeal was launched to the councilor for health, Mario Nieddu, by the unions and the family of the little girl who had reported the delay of seven months in the delivery of the health facility, an aspect that it had cost the little girl an emergency surgery.

"The current agreement - explains the representative of the Board - will guarantee the supply of the tube according to the prescriptions of the center that is treating the baby. For any eventuality, under the contract, it will be possible at any time to request the replacement cannula, with delivery times of a few days ".

Currently the Ats has confirmed the delivery to the family of a replacement PEG, in addition to the one already implanted in the little patient.

"Because of what emerged on the matter - concludes the commissioner - I wanted to personally verify that in the first place any criticality was really overcome".
