The prosecutor Rosanna Allieri had requested a one-year prison sentence, on charges of manslaughter, for Gianluca di Gioia, at the time of the events councilor for Civil Protection of the Municipality of Assemini, Mauro Moledda and Alessandro Bocchini, responsible for the municipal Civil Protection respectively until 2017 and until the date of the flood.
Defending the defendants were lawyers Antonio Incerpi, Hiram Cossu, Emma Marceddu and Franco Pilia, while lawyer Marcello Serra represented the civil party. Today the acquittal was pronounced by judge Alessandra Tedde.
