Red, black, white and green. In the composition of the flag of Palestine. And a writing: “Free Palestine”. The work appeared on the steps of Piazza Gramsci, in Orgosolo. The authors of the work are all women from the Barbagia area, who wanted to represent all their indignation for the massacre perpetrated by Israel in the Gaza Strip and show their solidarity with the people under attack.
The creation of the large flag, which colors all the steps, had been announced to the Municipality: «We are a group of women from Orgosolo and, with this, we communicate that it is our intention to create, in the next few days, a mural on the steps that connect via Gramsci to the square of the same name» , they had told the Municipality.
"The mural will have the flag of Palestine as its subject. We believe that in such a dramatic moment, such as the one the Palestinian people are experiencing before the eyes of the entire world, we cannot remain indifferent", was the message, "faced with the painful awareness of our impotence in stopping a conflict, we wish to express our dissent with the peaceful tools at our disposal. Communication on walls, such as that of murals and which distinguishes our country, seems to us the most suitable method to convey our message".
Justice, peace and freedom "are the terms that will characterize this event". The idea came from Lina Sanna, an artist and muralist from Orgosolo.
