Fire and flames at Saras, a blaze in the middle of the night: residents awakened by sirens

Citizens of Sarroch awakened once again by sirens and smoke from the Saras plants .

A fire broke out in the middle of the night, around 3:30 a.m., in the southern facilities of the refinery . The alarm was called off around 6 a.m., when the sirens sounded again.

The Cagliari Fire Department also responded to the scene. All entrances were closed and then reopened in the early hours of the morning.

The Municipality has requested an urgent meeting with the company's top management, which will be held this morning at the town hall.

These days, a planned plant shutdown is underway, causing the phenomenon, well known to citizens, of the ignition of flares, which burn the unprocessed product when the plants are stopped .
