Citizens of Sarroch awakened once again by sirens and smoke from the Saras plants .

A fire broke out in the middle of the night, around 3:30 a.m., in the southern facilities of the refinery . The alarm was called off around 6 a.m., when the sirens sounded again.

The Cagliari Fire Department also responded to the scene. All entrances were closed and then reopened in the early hours of the morning.

The Municipality has requested an urgent meeting with the company's top management, which will be held this morning at the town hall.

A planned plant shutdown is currently underway, causing the phenomenon, well known to citizens, of the ignition of flares, which burn the unprocessed product when the plants are stopped .

Sarlux announced: "At approximately 3:30 this morning, a fire broke out inside the Sarlux plant, causing an emergency limited to a single production unit in the southern plant. Internal firefighting teams responded promptly, in collaboration with the fire department, which was informed of the incident and immediately arrived on site. The municipal administration and the relevant regulatory bodies have been informed of the situation. The company confirms that no injuries were reported. Further updates will follow."
