A guilt "demonstrated by the documents". With these words, pronounced in the Court of Assizes of Appeal, the deputy prosecutor Angelo Beccu, prosecutor applied for the trial, asked for confirmation of the life sentence inflicted in the first instance on Massimiliano Farci . The civil party lawyers, Stefano Carboni and Edoardo Morette, are also on the same line.

The man had been convicted of killing his partner Speranza Ponti in Alghero on 5 December 2019.

Farci, who has always declared himself innocent, was not in court today: according to his reconstruction, he would have found the body of his partner on his way home, hanged with a sheet from the bedroom door. The man had admitted to having hidden the body, taking it to a hill on the Capo Caccia promontory, but only "because it was Speranza's desire" .

Massimiliano Farci is already serving a life sentence for the murder of the entrepreneur Renato Baldussi, committed in 1999. In 2017, however, he obtained semi-liberty and opened a pizzeria in Alghero. Two years later, the death of Speranza Ponti.
