Fatal cerebral hemorrhage: the family of a woman from Ogliastra donates her liver

A liver harvest went on all night at the Nostra Signora della Mercede hospital in Lanusei. It was donated by an elderly woman from Ogliastra, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage.

The organ was carefully treated by the health personnel of the garrison and by a team arrived from Cagliari. Around noon the liver was transported to the firefighters helipad in Lanusei and loaded onto an Areus helicopter which, after a few minutes, took off for the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari.

The noble gesture of the woman will save the life of a person on the waiting list.
