Sant'Antioco mourns Maria Giulia Cirronis : she is the victim of the tragic accident that occurred late this morning near Sant'Antioco, on state road 126, at kilometer 0.800, not far from the Esso petrol station.

The car in which he was travelling, for reasons yet to be ascertained, collided with the vehicle driven by Roberto Dessì, 33 years old. She died instantly. He was transported to Brotzu on board the Areus air ambulance: he suffered numerous fractures, but his life was not in danger.

Cirronis was a psychologist, she was 51 years old, she was well known in Sulcis and beyond: she was part of the INPS disability evaluation commission. She leaves her husband and two very young daughters, one of whom the terrible news reached in the United States, where she is studying.

Carbonia traffic police officers intervened to reconstruct the dynamics. The firefighters worked to extract the injured man from the sheet metal: the first treatment was provided by the 118 operators of Sulcis Emergenze. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the psychologist: she remained inside her Fiat Qubo, waiting for the hearse to intervene.
