Tomorrow at the Court of Sassari a new hearing in the Eni criminal trial on the so-called "hill of poisons", the trial that revolves around the accusation of environmental disaster and which has four former Syndial executives as main defendants.

Gianluca D'Aquila, regional head of safety and environmental standards of the subsidiary Eni, Luigi Volpe, Francesco Misuraca and Giovanni Milani are accused of failing to carry out maintenance, surveillance and controls for the unauthorized landfill of Minciaredda, in the locality “La Marinella”, in the industrial area of Porto Torres.

The trial, opened in February 2021, will see the defendants appear in the courtroom tomorrow for spontaneous declarations before the panel chaired by judge Mauro Pusceddu and on the side of Giulia Tronci and Sergio De Luca.

After the trial and the intervention of witnesses, we will proceed with the deposition of new documentation produced by the parties.

The Ministry of the Environment and Ecological Transition, the Municipalities of Sassari and Porto Torres, the Asinara Park Authority, the Region of Sardinia and the WWF were accepted as civil parties in the case.
