Environment and music, a winning combination, which the Aidos cultural association, curator of Cantigos in Carrela, has embraced for the protection of nature. The event will be held on Sunday, May 17th. Indeed, "Ecologicantanne," an active ecological day to raise awareness about nature conservation, is now in its tenth year. Many volunteers with spades, rakes, wheelbarrows, and bins will clean up the Sa Rocca overlook and, on the picturesque hill overlooking the town, will tend to the saplings planted last year in phytocells, then fix the irrigation system.

A day dedicated to protecting nature, setting a good example, which is always contagious. Environmentalists, hiking enthusiasts, parents and children will take part in collecting waste, which unfortunately is still abandoned today with no respect for the environment.

Protecting the beautiful Sa Rocca viewpoint, a community natural heritage site: "We're trying to set an example for younger generations, who will carry on this legacy of environmental stewardship in the future," explain the organizers. All collected waste will be temporarily stored in designated areas for later disposal according to its type. AIDOS is collaborating with the Don Deodato Meloni CEAS, the local Civil Protection branch, the Barracellare Company, and a partnership with the Siete Fuentes di San Leonardo. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Santu Lussurgiu.
