An forgetfulness that risked costing an elderly lady very dearly, who on the evening of November 1 turned to the offices of the Border Police of Cagliari-Elmas after arriving at the airport of the Sardinian capital with a flight from Milan had forgotten on a bench in the hall dedicated to "arrivals" the bag containing 1610 euros in cash, an amount relating to the recently collected pension.

Accompanied by her husband and son, the woman explained to the agents that she had brought the amount because, leaving it at home in view of the trip to Sardinia, she was afraid of a theft.

Immediate intervention of the agents who, viewing the cameras of the airport video surveillance circuit, made available to the Security and Judicial Police Office, saw a girl take possession of the precious bag.

Having reconstructed the passenger's route, the car on which the young woman got on as she left the airport, owned by an aunt, was identified.

The woman, tracked down by the agents, confirmed that she had actually given a lift to her niece and that the young woman had collected the bag with the intention of returning it as soon as possible to the owner, a procedure which went on for a long time due to influenced symptoms accused by the girl in the following days.

The bag, with all its contents, was then spontaneously returned to the owner
