Elderly man abandoned in his home and dead, the case reopens: "Arguments with the carer"

The story of Cesidio Cugini, the pensioner from Calangianus found dying at home and deceased in October 2020 , is getting complicated. The trial is underway in Tempio, and the elderly man's caregiver, Maria Plogariu, is accused of abandonment of an incapacitated person, assisted by the lawyer Oriana Erittu. But yesterday it emerged that the Tempio Prosecutor's Office is considering the requests of the civil party lawyer, Giuseppe Corda.

New circumstances have emerged, a witness spoke of the arguments between the carer and the victim: «I saw Cesidio in his pajamas locked out of the house» . The pensioner's son, Vittorio Cugini, asks for an evaluation of new hypotheses of crime, there is talk of unintentional homicide .

Yesterday the hearing, before the judge of Tempio, Silvia Campesi, was postponed because the prosecutor is evaluating the requests of the civil party. Cesidio Cugini was found alone at home, naked, lying on the floor, and died in hospital, in Nuoro, a few days after being admitted .
