The Einstein Telescope project will speak in Sardinian. The National Institute of Nuclear Physics (Infn) has communicated to the Sardinian Language and Culture Service of the Region its intention to use support to produce texts in the Sardinian language. Thanks to this, a new dedicated section of the institutional website will be created.
The Councilor for Public Education, Ilaria Portas, proposed with a resolution, already approved by the Regional Council, to continue the project thanks to the support of the Regional Language Desk. "We are very happy with this request from the INFN", declared Councilor Portas, "for our region and for our language it is a very important opportunity that both I and the entire Regional Council have decided to seize. A language is not just a set of words".
For the councilor "it is not a matter of taking texts and reproducing them and translating them into the Sardinian language. A language is a way of thinking, it is a culture, and it carries within itself the entire history of those who express themselves with that language. Furthermore, the ET project brings with it many opportunities for our young men and women, in addition to the scientific value for physics, cosmology and astrophysics".
