A blackout that lasted almost 8 hours . It happened at the Corte del Sole in Sestu , due to a fault in the electrical network. The fault, which began well before dawn, lasted all morning, until shortly after midday. The electricity worked only at the Iperpan and in the corridors.
For all the traders, it was a hard blow to business: « We lost at least 20 thousand euros of potential earnings », comments Michael Massesi, manager of the Pecora nera, Pecora bianca, Piazza grande and Aicha la Piazza del Gusto locations; «clearly without electricity we lost all the breakfasts».
Filippo Sotgiu, from the Thun gift shop, was scandalized: «Yet another breakdown on the most important day for a business that has to pay suppliers and employees, an insult from an organization that has little interest in the health of Sardinian businesses ».
Many shops were closed, even though there were many customers around, and in the few shops that were open people chose what to buy with the light of their cell phone: "Luckily I found what I was looking for, and the POS worked," comments Nicola Ragatzu.
Enel explains: "It was a fault in the medium voltage cabin that supplies the shopping center. Our operators intervened immediately." The delays were also long because spare parts had to arrive. According to the shopkeepers, other blackouts had already occurred, promptly reported to Enel.
