The Nuoro police have executed six precautionary measures against as many people accused of possession and dealing of narcotic substances .
The investigations, coordinated by the public prosecutor Elena Tres, led to the issuing of arrest warrants by the GIP of Nuoro Mauro Pusceddu, representing an important action in the fight against drug trafficking in the city.
Two were arrested in prison, three under house arrest and one ordered to remain in a house.
Among the recipients of the precautionary measures are also young adults and even a mother.
Gabriele Delogu, 20, and Edi Sotgiu, 21, ended up in prison. Paola Sotgiu, 53, Valentina Gungui, 43, and Cristina Cuccu, 25, were placed under house arrest. Francesco Porcu, 19, was ordered to remain at home.
On one occasion, the drug dealing activity - especially cocaine - monitored by the anti-drug section of the Nuoro Mobile Squad, from August last year until the end of 2024, was also carried out in taxis , in other cases near an elementary school.
The investigative activity has brought to light a daily, stable and continuous retail activity of narcotic substances of the cocaine type in the capital . The group, in order to consolidate the activity of selling and managing drug dealing in the city squares, did not hesitate to threaten, even violently, those who tried to undermine their operational "territory".
Weapons were also found during a search, with the seizure of a modified clandestine pistol.
Investigators have ascertained how in the period from July 2024 to today , a significant quantity of cocaine was placed on the Nuoro market with dozens of doses sold every day, allowing the accumulation of huge illicit profits.
The method of dealing took place in perfect synergy between the associates, who had set up a real drug market in the homes of some of them, which became a point of reference for buyers looking for cocaine. The salespeople were paid a fee of one hundred euros per day plus a “gift” in doses of the drug.
Other individuals, among those subject to precautionary measures, were involved in facilitating retail drug dealers, also providing places useful for hiding the economic proceeds of drug dealing activities , providing information on the presence of law enforcement in the streets where deliveries of the narcotic substance were made and the daily takings were collected.
