Nighttime water shutoffs will begin today in Macomer and Bosa, given the ongoing water emergency in northwest Sardinia. The ongoing drought is also impacting the Temo reservoir in Monteleone Rocca Doria, which supplies the Abbanoa water treatment plant. The constantly decreasing water has slowed the purification process, resulting in low reservoir levels, pressure drops, and brief interruptions in supply.

To avoid a total disruption to service, starting this evening, Abbanoa will introduce nighttime service closures from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the towns of Macomer and Bosa. This temporary measure, the company explains, is designed to preserve reserves and reduce disruption during peak consumption hours. This will allow the necessary supplies to be accumulated overnight to ensure distribution throughout the day.

Given the extremely critical situation, Abbanoa has also decided to postpone today's scheduled intervention at the "Temo 2" pumping station, thus limiting the interruptions to the night hours only.
