After the nightmare of the drought that has brought Sardinia to its knees, there is good news for the Nuorese. With the increase in the volumes of water stored in Lake Maccheronis in recent days, all restrictions have been revoked in the municipalities served between upper Baronia and lower Gallura. The regional Civil Protection has ordered the revocation of the Operational Rationing Plan in the drinking water sector under the jurisdiction of Abbanoa. The Sole Manager has immediately taken action to proceed with network operations and the increase in treatment processes in the plants.
From today, the supply will be guaranteed without interruptions also in the Municipalities of Budoni and San Teodoro whose water purification plants are powered exclusively by the Maccheronis reservoir. At the end of October, the restrictions had already been suspended in the Municipality of Posada and last Tuesday in the Municipality of Siniscola: this thanks to the connection activated by Abbanoa to use the water supplied by the Fruncu and Oche spring also to power the water purification plant serving the two centers of Baronia.
"We have worked in close contact with the municipal administrations", explains the president of the Board of Directors of Abbanoa Giuseppe Sardu: "With the aim, in these months of strong criticality, of limiting the restrictions as much as possible. At the same time, we have also carried out important investments in the efficiency of the water networks, the construction of which is underway".
