The Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Corps of Nuoro intervened to rescue a Eurasian griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus L.) found in obvious distress in the countryside of Dorgali. The report came from a private citizen , who set in motion a patrol engaged in an ordinary service of prevention and surveillance of the territory.

The Nuoro operations room immediately informed the Wildlife Veterinary Emergency Service. The recovery operations were completed yesterday evening . From an initial summary examination of the clinical conditions, the specimen was found to have no obvious injuries, but was severely debilitated: consequently, it will soon be hospitalized in a specialized recovery center .

The Forestry Corps reminds that it is strictly forbidden to disturb any species of wild fauna, as all are subject to maximum protection and safeguard in relation to the current regulations at regional, national and community level.
