A 39-year-old French hiker was rescued this afternoon thanks to a joint intervention by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Sardinia with the Areus helicopter rescue after she was injured along the path that leads from Cala Fuili to Cala Luna, in the municipality of Dorgali. The alarm was raised at the Alpine Rescue Headquarters around 1:45 pm by the 118 Operations Center following a call from the injured woman's family, who were with her during the hike .
The woman was walking along the trail when, due to a suspected ankle fracture, she found herself unable to continue. 14 Alpine Rescue technicians, who had left Bonacoa, in Dorgali, where they were attending a training course, immediately arrived on the scene. They reached the injured woman and proceeded to stabilize her and put her in a stretcher.
At the same time, to speed up the rescue operations and transport to the hospital, the intervention of the Olbia-based helicopter rescue service was also requested, with the Alpine Rescue helicopter technician and the medical team on board who, once on site, checked the tourist's conditions and then carried out the recovery with subsequent helicopter transport to the Olbia hospital.
A team from the Guardia di Finanza Alpine Rescue team was also alerted and ready to intervene to support the Alpine Rescue technicians.
