The 67-year-old pensioner from Dolianova, who is at the center of an investigation into abuse, has been removed from the family home and is barred from his wife. The precautionary measure was executed last night by the Carabinieri of the local station, at the direction of the judicial authorities. He was also placed on an electronic tag.

The measure replaces the signature requirement the man was already subject to after his wife, a 57-year-old unemployed woman, filed a complaint last July. According to the woman, that same month, her husband grabbed her by the arms and pushed her against the kitchen wall, causing injuries that were believed to heal within a few days. The woman also reported another form of violence: for months, her husband had allegedly decided not to provide her with any financial support.

The case is now being examined by the judiciary, while the woman remains under the protection of the authorities.

A similar operation was carried out in the early hours of the morning in Sinnai, where the Carabinieri executed a restraining order against a 58-year-old man, who was also given an electronic bracelet. The man, unemployed and already known to law enforcement, had allegedly been aggressive and harassing his elderly parents and sister, who live with him, for some time.
