Dolianova: Two statues stolen from a tomb, then regretted it and returned them to their families.

The theft was discovered yesterday by the owners of the tomb, from which two metal sculptures depicting Padre Pio and the Madonna were taken. This unfortunate incident was resolved in less than 24 hours after a member of the robbed family reported the theft.

This afternoon, the two statues were left on a family member's land in Soleminis, along with five other smaller sculptures, most likely also stolen from a sacred place.

The stolen goods were handed over to the Carabinieri in Dolianova. The officers released photos to facilitate their recovery. It remains to be seen whether the other funerary objects were also stolen in Dolianova or another nearby town.
