Breakthrough in the investigation into the accident which on Sunday 12 November, on State Road 387, claimed the life of Daniele Picciau, 32 years old, from Dolianova.

The owner of the car, Nicola Dessì, 28 years old, also from Dolianova, confessed to the police that he was behind the wheel at the time of the crash against the guard rail and not Nicola Ibba, the fellow villager who had run away to turn himself in after thirty hours.

Dessì and Ibba, old friends, are currently both under investigation . The alleged crime is aggravated vehicular homicide: neither of them has a driving licence.
