The phone calls from the local health authority announce the first cancellations of disability visits, even if they are long overdue. It is the feared blockage risk that becomes reality, thus exceeding the alarm level.
"The situation is dramatic, the rights of the sick are being violated", warns the National Association of disabled and disabled civilians (Anmci). «We receive requests for help from all over the island», denounce the ACLI.
At the basis of everything are the recent guidelines that dictate new rules to medical commissions for disability. Called, as per the regional resolution - 28/8 - to meet as a priority during service hours. «A measure that is weighing heavily on the shoulders of the most vulnerable categories. The rights of thousands of Sardinians who have been waiting for certification of their disability status for months and are now faced with unacceptable cancellations are being trampled on."
«It is obvious that faced with undersized staff in all Sardinian hospitals, doctors cannot be asked to meet in commission during service hours - observes Fabrizio Rodin, regional president of the Anmci -: in doing so we inevitably face the blockage of visits or to the slowdown in the ordinary activity of the departments". "We need to find a solution quickly, which is why we have requested an urgent meeting with the Health Councilor Carlo Doria."
The greatest reports, adds Rodin, come from Trexenta, Sulcis and Sassarese.
