Hundreds of volunteer divers mobilized for "Noi e il Mare" , a vast operation of reclamation of the Italian seabed organized, for the third consecutive year, by the Italian Coast Guard as part of the European project "Clean Sea Life" and on the occasion of the World Day of Oceans, which occurs today.

There are numerous diving centers in eleven coastal regions to free marinas, marine protected areas, areas of naturalistic and archaeological interest from waste . The personnel of the Territorial Commands and of the five underwater units of the Coast Guard will provide the fundamental safety framework for the activities.

Until 12 June , the campaign aims to recover solid waste, plastic and any other polluting material from the sea that will add up to the 20 tons of waste recovered in previous editions.

Among the main ports touched by the event there is also Oristano .

"The campaign 'We and the sea' - highlights the spokesman of the Coast Guard, Cosimo Nicastro - sees the full involvement of civil society in environmental protection activities and, through the large quantities of waste recovered, makes us understand how crucial the human impact on the health of the sea ".
