Almost half a million euros undeclared by travelers, 83 thousand euros seized, 20 disputed violations with penalties equal to 11 thousand euros. These are the numbers of a year of activity carried out by women and men by the Customs and Monopolies Agency in the airports of Cagliari, Alghero and Olbia.

Overall, 466,679 thousand euros were intercepted in 2021, triple the money discovered in 2020 with only 153 thousand euros, confirming the increase in travelers after the lockdown linked to the pandemic and the consequent increase in controls.

In particular, travelers, national and non-EU citizens, who were carrying 25 thousand euros without having declared them, were blocked in Cagliari. In Olbia the remaining part of the money, and therefore over 440 thousand euros.
