Covid: sudden surge in victims on the island, the new positives are 2,063

Another sharp increase in deaths in Sardinia linked to Covid-19: 11 in the last 24 hours, and 2,063 new cases of positivity.
A total of 13,831 swabs were processed, including molecular and antigenic.
According to the bulletin released by the Crisis Unit of the Region, patients admitted to intensive care units are 20 (six fewer than yesterday); those in the medical area are 323 (figure unchanged).
24,083 are the cases of home isolation (-709).
The victims are an 83-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man, residing in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari; two 69-year-old women, residing in the province of South Sardinia; an 89-year-old woman residing in the province of Oristano; three men aged 75, 79 and 84, residing in the province of Sassari and three are the deaths recorded in the province of Nuoro.
