Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have never been so many cases of Covid-19 positivity recorded in Sardinia in 24 hours.

The latest bulletin released by the Region ( READ ) recorded 1,296 new daily infections, a record since the state of emergency was decreed, at the beginning of 2020.

Here is the detail of the new cases found in the island, province by province, according to data from the Ministry of Health:

Cagliari: 384

Sassari: 519

South Sardinia: 211

Nuoro: 32

Oristano: 150

THE NUMBERS FROM 2020 - With the latest update, the total cases of Covid-19 ascertained in Sardinia since the beginning of the emergency are therefore updated to 94,001, while the total victims - two in the last 24 hours - rise to 1,739.

Below is the detail of the overall infections in the island from February 2020, also in this case divided by province:

Cagliari: 28,433

Sassari: 26,378

South Sardinia: 15,862

Nuoro: 15,217

Oristano: 8,097.

THE COMPARISON - Exactly one year ago - on January 6, 2021 - in the 24 hours there were 9 deaths and 335 new cases in Sardinia, identified with 3,133 swabs (in the latest update the tests performed were instead 20,093).

Looking at the hospitals, also twelve months ago on the island 494 patients were hospitalized in the medical area (today there are 173) and 47 patients in intensive care (today there are 22).

Still, there are 12,164 people in home isolation today, compared to 16,372 a year ago.

Finally, the healed: in the last 24 hours there were 253, a year ago the daily bulletin of the Region recorded 170.
