Cases currently positive for Covid per 100,000 inhabitants drop after days in Sardinia - from 1,917 to 1,889. Not only that: the new infections drop by 12.8% compared to the previous week.

This is what the Gimbe Foundation notes in the monitoring carried out between 30 March and 5 April.

The greatest decline in the incidence is recorded in the province of Sassari with -23.3%, followed by that of Nuoro with -18.2%. Then Oristano with -11.9, the metropolitan city of Cagliari with -7%. The only province in contrast is that of South Sardinia with a + 3.4% compared to the previous week.

However, as regards hospitalizations, the pressure on hospitals with beds in the medical area remains above the Italian average, 20.6% occupied by Covid patients and 11.3% (Italian record) in intensive care. The percentage of the population that completed the vaccination cycle was stable at 85% (Italian average of 84%) to which an additional 1.5% who received the first dose must be added. The vaccination coverage rate with the third dose is 84.3 (Italian average at 83.5%), while for the fourth it is 5.1% (Italian average at 8.2%).

The vaccination campaign for children between 5 and 11 years old is still behind: only 41.6% (Italian average at 33.8%) completed the cycle with two doses, to which to add a further 4.9% (average 3.7%) only with the first dose.
