The epidemiological curve of the Covid-19 in Sardinia is still declining , where in the week just ended (17-23 February) there was an improvement in the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants (39.8 compared to 53.3 in the previous survey) and a decrease in new cases (-25.3%) compared to the previous week , when the drop was 13%. The Gimbe Foundation detects it.
The index was halved in the Sassari area (31 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and -51.8%), while the decline was more contained in the other provinces: Oristano 28 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (-23.2% compared to the previous week), South Sardinia 31 cases out of 100 thousand (-21.5%), Cagliari 66 cases out of 100 thousand (-4.1%) and Nuoro 27 out of 100 thousand (-1.8% compared to the previous week).
However, the number of beds in the medical area (9.2%) and in intensive care (2.9%) occupied by Covid patients remain above the national average.
Stop the vaccination campaign: the percentage of the population that has not received any dose of vaccine is 13.7% (Italian average 13.9%) to which must be added the temporarily protected population, as they recovered from Covid for less than 180 days , equal to 0.4%; the percentage of the over 5 year old population who did not receive the third dose of the vaccine is 17.8% (Italian average 15.2%) to which must be added the over 5 year old population healed for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third dose immediately, equal to 1.8%.
The vaccination coverage rate with the fourth dose is 22.5% (Italian average 31.2%), while with the fifth dose it is 10.5% (Italian average 15.1%).
Among the youngest (5-11 years) those who have completed the vaccination cycle are only 41.8% (Italian average 35.3%) to add a further 4.4% (Italian average 3.2%) only with first dose.
