The new daily infections of Covid in Sardinia set a new record, even spiking above 1,200. Record also for swabs performed in 24 hours: over 22 thousand. And unfortunately there are two other victims.
Here is the bulletin released by the Region on Friday 31 December 2021: “In Sardinia today there are 1209 further confirmed cases of COVID positivity (yesterday 735, ed), based on 5588 people tested. A total of 22192 swabs were processed, between molecular and antigenic (for a positive rate of 5.4%, ed).
There are 16 patients admitted to intensive care units (one more than yesterday).
146 patients are admitted to the medical area (two more than yesterday).
7830 are the cases of home isolation (1004 more than yesterday).
Two patients died (yesterday three victims, ed): an 83-year-old man, resident in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, and a resident in the province of Nuoro ".
Exactly one year ago - on December 31, 2020 - in the 24 hours there were 368 new infections and four deaths ( All data ).
