COVID-19 deaths in Sassari: health officials requested to be sent to trial.

The prosecutor requested the indictment, today in court in Sassari, of Bruno Contu and Fiorenzo Delogu, accused of negligent epidemic and multiple manslaughter for the 11 Covid deaths and numerous infections that occurred in the Cardiology department of the Santissima Annunziata in 2020.
The prosecutor Paolo Piras, contrary to Contu, health director of AOU, and Delogu, director of the hygiene and public health office, requested that Giorgio Steri, general director of ATS, be dismissed .
Following the initial hearing in recent months, preliminary hearing judge Gian Paolo Piana had ordered the prosecutor to provide some clarifications on the charges. The defendants' testimony, particularly Contu's lengthy testimony, continued until today's hearing.
The defense attorneys are currently arguing, while the civil party lawyers have reached the same conclusions as the prosecutor.
